TruckScanner cookie policy

Version of 28 October 2026 · Effective from publication on truckscanner.it

This page explains which cookies and which browser storage the truckscanner.it website uses, what they are for and how long they stay on your device.

In short: the website does not set any cookies. It uses four browser storage items, all technical, which keep it working or remember choices you make. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools and we do not load scripts from other websites. That is why we do not ask for your consent and you do not see a banner.

The app.truckscanner.it platform, until the move to the new platform, has its own cookie policy, which you can read on Iubenda. This page covers only the truckscanner.it website.

1. Cookies and browser storage

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser and that the browser sends back to the website with every request. Browser storage does a similar job, but the website reads it only from within the page and does not receive it with every request. There are two kinds:

  • localStorage keeps data until you delete it;
  • sessionStorage clears itself when you close the tab.

A storage item is first-party when TruckScanner sets it, and third-party when someone else does. Technical tools are needed to provide the service you asked for, and the law does not require your consent to use them. Profiling and marketing tools do require it.

Throughout this page, a duration of "until you delete it" means the data stays in your browser until you clear the site data in your browser settings (section 7).

2. Who the controller is

The data controller is DIGITAL LOGISTICS S.R.L., Via F.lli Cervi 80, 42124 Reggio Emilia (RE), Italy, VAT number and tax code IT03031930351. For any question about this policy, write to tech@truckscanner.it.

3. The storage of the truckscanner.it website

The website does not set any cookies of its own. Fonts are hosted on the website itself, so your browser does not download them from external services. The website uses four browser storage items, all technical and all first-party.

The form to start a request

The form at the top of the home page is part of the site: it loads no scripts or frames from other sites and sets no cookies. While you type an address, the site asks our server (api.truckscanner.it) for suggestions without sending cookies. When you press the button to continue, the app.truckscanner.it platform opens with the details you entered: from then on, the platform's own cookie notice and privacy notice apply.

4. Statistics without cookies

To understand which pages are read, we count page views with a system of our own, which uses no cookies and loads no tools from anyone else. For each page view we record the page path, the language, the website you came from, the campaign parameters (UTM) and the type of device. We do not record your IP address or your browser type, and we assign no identifier, so this data does not identify you.

5. Hosting and DNS

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., which serves it from its network. Cloudflare manages only the DNS, the directory that tells browsers where to find the website: the website's traffic does not pass through Cloudflare, and Cloudflare sets no cookies. You can find the safeguards for transfers outside the European Union in the privacy policy.

6. Why you do not see a banner

Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code requires consent only for tools that are not technical. The website uses only technical storage, so we do not ask for your consent and we do not show you a banner when you arrive.

If we ever add analytics or marketing tools that require consent, you will see them listed in the "Cookie preferences" panel and we will ask for your consent before turning them on. Until you give it, they stay off.

7. How to manage your choice and delete storage

At the bottom of every page of the website you will find the "Manage cookies" link, which opens the "Cookie preferences" panel. The panel shows the categories of tools: today only the necessary cookies category is active, while statistics and marketing appear as not used. With "Save preferences" you save your choice and we record it (section 8); with "Close" you leave without changing anything.

You can also use your browser settings to see which site data is saved, to block it or to delete it. localStorage is part of the site data: you delete it when you delete a site's data. sessionStorage clears itself when you close the tab. Instructions for the most common browsers are here:

For other browsers, look for the word "cookie" in the settings or in the help.

Browser settings do not tell the storage items apart by category. If you delete or block them, the website may stop working as it should: for example, the assistant no longer finds your conversation in progress.

8. How long we keep your choice

When you save a choice in the "Cookie preferences" panel, we record it in our consent log together with the random identifier ts_consent_session_id, so that we can show what you chose. We do not store your IP address in clear, but a fingerprint of it (a SHA-256 hash), and we do the same with your browser type (the user agent). We keep each record for 2 years (730 days); a monthly clean-up deletes the expired ones.

9. Changes and further information

If we change the tools we use, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change requires your consent, we ask for it before turning the new tool on.

In the privacy policy you will find the other information on how we handle your data: the providers, transfers outside the European Union, your rights and how to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante). To exercise your rights or for any question, write to tech@truckscanner.it.
